Lake Diefenbaker, Elbow, Saskatchewan, Canada
About me
I am an artist/poet/photographer based in the village of Elbow, Saskatchewan, Canada, on the eastern shore of beautiful Lake Diefenbaker. A lifelong musician, songwriter and recording artist, I traded out my guitar for a camera a few years ago, and I’m enjoying my retirement years hiking the winding trails and endless beaches near my home, capturing the natural beauty of this scenic part of the country.
I love photographing our vast prairie landscapes, the dramatic sunsets and thunderstorms over the lake, and documenting the changing seasons. The far horizons, leading lines and vanishing points make this place a naturalist photographer’s paradise ...with abundant birds and wildlife, bugs and flowers ... so much beauty that beckons my lens.
For several years, I’ve been a regular contributing member of numerous international photography groups, from which I regularly receive much complimentary recognition and awards for my work, and I’m grateful that my prints hang prominently on the walls of many fine homes, locally and abroad.
My wife, June Evans (an accomplished baker and macramé artist), and I live here in Elbow, SK, in a big, old farmhouse on Saskatchewan Street that’s also home to The Front Porch Gallery, where we seasonally showcase our work.
